PHILADELPHIA — Maikel Franco may not have done much in his first two games in the majors this year, going a combined 1-for-8 with no extra-base hits.
But Sunday afternoon, Franco provided a glimpse into what all the excitement was about surrounding his call-up Friday morning.
Franco went 2-for-4 with his first major league triple, his first major league home run, two runs scored and two RBIs as the Phillies topped the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-0. He even showed off his glove on a diving grab to his left with two on and one out in the ninth.
