The Phillies, fresh off a 15-2 trash compaction at the hands of Madison Bumgarner's Giants, try to even the series behind David Buchanan.
After Cole Hamels was roughed up by the Giants yesterday, the Phillies turned to David Buchanan to try and even the series in San Francisco.
And, at first, it appeared to be working. Buke outdueled Giants' starter Ryan Vogelsong, who was chased in the sixth, allowing only a single run in his five innings of work, scattering eight hits and no walks against three strikeouts. All in all, a solid outing, or, it would have been had he been able to pitch the sixth as well.
