This one wasn’t looking good. Trailing by a run with two outs in the ninth, the only thing standing between the Phillies and a loss to the Washington Nationals was bench player Kody Clemens. Naturally, Clemens hit a game tying home run to send it into extra innings. And then in the tenth inning, Bryce Harper hit a sacrifice fly to give the Phillies a 4-3 win.
The game started off a bit shaky for the Phillies as starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez allowed hits to the first three National batters, putting the team in a 1-0 hole.
