Since the 2022 NLCS, the Phillies have dominated the San Diego Padres. The Phillies were 10-2 against the Padres over the past two seasons heading into Wednesday afternoon’s game. And with Ranger Suarez on the mound, the Phillies looked to have a chance to add an eleventh win to that total. Unfortunately, Padres starting pitcher Matt Waldron used his knuckleball to keep the Phillies off-balance most of the day, and the Padres took advantage of the Phillies’ bullpen and defense to salvage a 5-2 win.
The Phillies struggled with runners on base in their win on Tuesday night.
