Klentak not ready to replace Phillies sluggish offense with minor-leaguers

Phillies general manager Matt Klentak doesn't appear swayed by public pressure to call up minor-league position players for the slumping offense.

The Phillies entered Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants at Citizens Bank Park with baseball's worst record, 17-34.

The team was expected to make marginal improvement from a 71-91 record last season, but instead it has regressed. The Phillies have called up several pitchers this season. The latest will be righthander Ben Lively, who will make his major league debut on Saturday when he gets the start against the Giants.

For now, Klentak appears to be staying the course.
