PHILADELPHIA -- Nobody needed a big hit more than J.P. Crawford needed one on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. But nobody had a bigger hit than Scott Kingery.
Crawford ripped a two-out single to right field in the seventh inning in a 6-1 victory over the Reds. It scored Nick Williams from third base to hand the Phillies a one-run lead. It also provided a nice boost to Crawford, who entered the at-bat with just one hit in his first 25 at-bats to open the season. But Kingery turned the game into a rout in the eighth, when he smashed a grand slam to left field.
