Kershaw Shows He’s Still a Star

That the Dodgers’ ace lefty Clayton Kershaw was not selected outright to the National League All-Star team was ridiculous. Last night, the winner of 3 of the last 4 NL Cy Young Awards (he was 2nd the other season) demonstrated clearly that he is still the best with a 5-0 complete game shutout of the Phillies at Dodger Stadium.

Kershaw scattered 8 hits, walked no one, and struck out 13 Phils’ batters. 92 of his 123 pitches went for strikes. His record is now 6-6, but he has a 2.85 ERA, a 1.024 WHIP, and has allowed just 99 hits in 123 innings pitched across 18 starts with a 160/27 K:BB ratio.
