As the oldest of four children, I always prided myself on not being a bully to my younger siblings. At least, not often. But there were times when my annoying little brother or little sisters were making life miserable and I had to retaliate.
I had no choice. Really, they made me do it.
One of the things I used to do, and I suspect most big brothers did, was take my younger siblings by the hand and smack themselves with it, all the while yelling, “Why are you hitting yourself, why are you hitting yourself?”
Last night, former Phillies closer Ken Giles was his own big brother.
