The Philadelphia Phillies couldn’t get Theo Epstein to run their front office, but it appears that they may seriously be considering tabbing one of his former assistants to take on a leading role in the organization.
Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Phillies met with Los Angeles Dodgers’ senior vice president of baseball operations Josh Byrnes for a second time Monday via Zoom.
We don’t yet know if the Phillies view Byrnes as a candidate for president of baseball operations or general manager.
