MOOSIC, Pa. - Tommy Joseph returned to his Allentown apartment last week after one of his first games back with triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 24-year-old's mind started to wander as he reflected on the events of the last few months.
His slow start to the season. Another concussion. The doctors appointments. More doctors appointments. Learning a new position. Playing with teenagers in Florida. And finally back to triple A.
"Just realizing how long of a summer it was," Joseph said. "So many hurdles. So many doctors appointments. So many days that you woke up and it almost felt like Groundhog Day.
