Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, along with boxing legend Bernard Hopkins, will headline the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022. New inductees include Rollie Massimino, Phil Martelli, David Akers and the 1983 Philadelphia 76ers.
Rollins played for the Phillies for 15 seasons and holds the franchise record for hits, surpassing Mike Schmidt for the record in 2014. As a core member of the beloved ’07-’11 Phillies teams, Rollins won four Gold Gloves at shortstop, made three All-Star teams and was a World Series champion in 2008. He also won the National League’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2007, a year in which he joined the 20-20-20 club (20 doubles, 20 triples and 20 home runs).
