Teams go through injuries all the time. It’s part of baseball, sadly due to a 162 game grind that can play havoc on a player. There are many ways a team can keep a player healthy, but oftentimes, the luck of the draw wins out.
The Phillies have been beset by two injuries that have forced their hands into dipping into their roster depth to weather the maladies. Some have stepped up when given the chance. Edmundo Sosa has hit so well, his 157 wRC+ would place him 22nd among hitters with at least 80 plate appearances since Turner hit the injured list.
