How did Andrew Painter’s first performance in Clearwater go?

You’ll have to forgive us if we aren’t concerned with the actual result from last night’s Clearwater Threshers game. While it was important that Weston Wilson continued to get some rehab at bats down in Florida, the main story last night was the season debut of Andrew Painter. Coming off of a very long rehab from Tommy John surgery, Painter was assigned to Clearwater to begin his season, last night marking the first pitches he’s thrown in almost two years.

How did it go?

Limited by a pitch count put in place, Painter worked in 1 23 innings, striking out three while allowing a few BABIP singles.
