PHILADELPHIA -- Rhys Hoskins has been on a tear since he broke his jaw last month in Los Angeles.
He hit a three-run home run to right field in the second inning Tuesday night against Yankees right-hander Luis Cessa at Citizens Bank Park. Hoskins hit a 1-2 slider just off the plate to the opposite field for his 12th homer of the season.
It gave the Phillies their first lead in the three-game series. Eleven of Hoskins' homers this season have given the Phillies the lead.
