CHASE UTLEY'S homecoming ended much like it began:
Most of the 29,187 at Citizens Bank Park rose and applauded when Utley led off the first inning for the Dodgers. He struck out Tuesday before hitting two homers, and his leadoff single Thursday sparked a three-run rally.
And then Utley rose into the heavens (on the team plane to Cincinnati), his mythical powers manifested again.
Really, this return was unlike any other; unlike anything imaginable. It was almost messianic, with a distinct Easter-ly feel about this visit, complete with a three-day element and Utley's infallibility. The worship was fevered and focused.
