Haverford Product Tommy Bergjans Set To Make Phils Organization Debut

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Phillies made headlines last week when they traded veteran catcher Carlos Ruiz to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In return, the Phillies got back a veteran catcher in A.J. Ellis and he made quite the impression in his first game with the Phils on Sunday. His two-run double snapped a 1-1 tie in the 7th inning against the Mets in a game the Phillies won 5-1.

On Tuesday night, the other player the Phillies acquired in that deal (Phils also will receive a player to be named later) will hope to make as big an impact in his first game with the organization.
