Playing on Sunday Night Baseball with a chance to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals, the Phillies received a poor start from Taijuan Walker, poor hitting with runners in scoring position, and once again, couldn’t get the “ghost runner” home in extra innings. The result was a ten-inning loss to the Cardinals. Even worse than watching them lose was watching left fielder Brandon Marsh hobble off the field with a hamstring injury that looks like it will cost him a good amount of time.
As he too often does, Walker put the Phillies in an early hole.
