Grady Sizemore’s Swan Song

Nothing is more exciting than a young star in the making. That’s exactly what Cleveland had in 2005, when a young center fielder named Grady Sizemore busted onto the scene in his first full season in the Majors following a 43-game cameo in 2004.

The 22-year-old accumulated 6.6 WAR, giving him the eighth highest total among all position players in MLB for the 2005 season and even appeared on the MVP ballot. Sizemore proved that season wasn’t a fluke, as he finished with an American League best 6.7 WAR in his second season and was named to his first All-Star team while playing in all 162 games.
