The Phillies will open a three-game set with the Chicago Cubs tonight at Wrigley Field. It will be the first Major League start for Michael Mercado who is starting in the place of the injured Taijuan Walker and Spencer Turnbull. Mercado made one relief appearance after being called up to the Phillies and pitched a clean inning while picking up his first strikeout. The right hander is 1-1 with a 1.71 ERA in 14 games including 10 starts with Lehigh Valley this year.
