Franco, Altherr smash grand slams vs. Marlins

PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco hit a grand slam in the first inning, and outfielder Aaron Altherr hit one of his own in the third, both coming off Marlins starter Dillon Peters on Saturday.

The Phillies last hit two grand slams in the same game on April 27, 2009, against the Nationals, courtesy of Ryan Howard and Raul Ibanez.

Peters came into Saturday's game having not allowed an earned run this season.

Franco's shot, which was on the eighth pitch of the at-bat with a 2-2 count, traveled high over the left-center-field wall, and scored Carlos Santana, Scott Kingery and Rhys Hoskins ahead of him, giving the Phillies a 5-1 lead.
