This is not an attempt to put a dark cloud inside a silver lining.

After what has happened over the past two weeks, Philadelphia fans have every right to feel optimistic about some pending parades just over the horizon. The crop of young and talented players coming into the city is the best in nearly two decades. Each franchise has a prime-time youngster to smile about.

On June 9, the Eagles completed the final of their 10 allowed voluntary organized team activities, and while it’s hard to get a read on what exactly practicing without pads and with limited contact means, second-year quarterback Carson Wentz appears to be progressing.
