Well, the Phillies couldn’t keep winning forever. After rattling off six straight wins, they dropped the final game of their series with the Pirates. They still took home the series win from Pittsburgh as they head into a four-game series against the Mets.
The series started off with a bang as Philadelphia’s offense exploded for 17 runs, capped off by a seven-run seventh inning. It was the longest nine-inning game in franchise history. A three-run seventh Saturday night led to a 3-2 win before a 4-1 loss ended the series Sunday afternoon.
