PHOENIX - Like most closers, Ken Giles is an admitted adrenaline junkie.
He spent his half inning away from the mound during yesterday afternoon's four-out save attempt pacing in the dugout like a hungry, wild cat. He couldn't sit down.
It was difficult to blame him after recording what might have been the most pivotal out in his development as a major league closer.
Giles, 24, entered the matinee with the Phillies clinging to a one-run lead with two outs and runners on the corners in the eighth, against an Arizona Diamondbacks team that had hit lasers all over Chase Field the entire series, to the tune of 32 runs on 47 hits.
