Father Makes Spectacular Mother’s Day Catch: ‘It Was Unreal’

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The best catch of Sunday’s Mother Day matinee between the Phillies and Mets came from someone who didn’t even have a glove. Just a fan, a father actually, of all people.

Mike Capko with his bay son Kolton literally strapped to chest and his wife Alyssa next to him, made a one-handed, bare-handed snag from his seat.

“There’s no way I wasn’t catching that ball,” Capko told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday, of his now viral catch.

Capko, 30 from Conshohocken, who says he goes to the gym often and plays hockey admitted he’s not much of a baseball player.
