Domonic Brown 0 for 4 in return to Phillies

PITTSBURGH - Lehigh Valley manager Dave Brundage called Domonic Brown into his office Saturday afternoon. He asked the outfielder how he was feeling. Brundage told Brown he was out of that night's IronPigs lineup. The manager wanted Brown to get better mentally and physically.

The triple-A manager left his office. Brown was left a bit confused. The team's strength and conditioning coach then told Brown that the manager wanted to see him again.

"Then I knew something was up," Brown said.

His instincts were right. Brundage told Brown he had been promoted to the Phillies. Brown flew to Pittsburgh and joined the team Sunday before the series finale at PNC Park against the Pirates, taking the roster spot of Darin Ruf.
