There is a layer of intrigue coming up with the Phillies in the near future. They have an off day on Monday before they head to Georgia for a series against the Braves. Regardless of what the division lead looks like before the plane leaves the tarmac, the Phillies could help themselves a bit by winning the series to put a bit more distance between them and Atlanta.
There is also some opportunity to get some rest and/or fresh arms into the rotation if the manager decides that is something he would like to do. Asked about the possibility of going to a six man rotation, Rob Thomson wasn’t exactly committing one way or another to a decision.
