Playing Major League Baseball, you may have heard, is incredibly difficult. Not only is it a years-long slog to even make it to this highest level of professional baseball, you then have to continue working to adjust and compensate to a league constantly trying to make you fail.
For nearly all of his 2017 cameo and the first three weeks of 2018, Rhys Hoskins made playing baseball at an elite level look easy. Preposterously easy. Too easy. Sure enough, the last two-and-a-half weeks have exposed a newly-human Hoskins, one struggling to make hard contact and reach base the way he had previously with aplomb.
