In preparation for their series against the Mets, the Phillies announced some roster moves on Friday morning:
The move that’s causing the most jubilation among Phillies fans is the designation for assignment of David Hale. Hale has been awful all season, and getting him off the roster will thankfully keep Joe Girardi from inexplicably using him in high leverage spots.
It’s telling that the Phillies are basically replacing him with Neftali Feliz - who hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2017 - and it is seen as an upgrade.
