WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) — Bryce Harper silenced Nationals fans — and then some — in his return to Washington Tuesday. After starting his night with strikeouts in his first two at bats, Harper then drilled a double and later an RBI single to silence the boos.
And then came the big one.
Harper absolutely demolished a two-run shot to right field in the eight inning. At that point, the crowd seemed to be more Phillies fans than Nats, as Harper showed up his former team.
As if the mammoth 458-foot homer wasn’t enough, Harper unleashed a bat flip for the ages.
