Bryce Harper (blister) is out of the Phillies lineup for a third straight game. Interim manager Rob Thomson told reporters, including MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, that Harper is available to hit off the bench and that the team is hopeful Harper can start in Wednesday’s matinee against the Texas Rangers in Arlington.
Thomson added that Harper reported feeling much better after hitting in the cage. His last at-bat came in the nightcap of a doubleheader against the Nationals on Friday where he doubled and drove in two runs to tie the game in the eighth inning.
