He's probably a little too good overall to take true pride of place alongside otherwise mediocre Phillie killers like Julio Lugo (109 plate appearances, .418/.500/.692) and Rod Barajas (108 PA, 9 homers, .610 SLG). But Jay Bruce came into tonight's game with a career line of .327/.379/.615 including 17 homers in 248 plate appearances against the Phillies. He improved on those figures with two homers, three runs scored and three batted in, powering the Mets to a 4-3 win that looked all too familiar for any Phils fan who's watched these two teams mix it up over the last few seasons.
