READING - Selected in the 33rd round of the major league baseball draft in 2011, Brock Stassi was never expected to be a rising star in the Phillies' organization.
In high school, he wasn't even expected to play collegiately; Stassi's younger brother, Max, now a catcher in the Houston Astros organization, received a scholarship offer as a sophomore before his big brother started drawing even a hint of interest from scouts.
"All my friends started signing in that early signing period after their junior year during the fall of their senior year, and I still didn't have any college offers," Stassi said.
