The Milwaukee Brewers rallied from an early deficit to take down the host Phillies in the opener of a 4-game series between a pair of last place clubs at Citizens Bank Park.
The Brew Crew, buried at the bottom of the National League Central, and the Phils, similarly buried at the bottom of the NL East, came into this opener separated by two games. That was the margin held by the Phillies, holding MLB’s worst record, in the race for the top overall pick in the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft.
The Phils actually broke out to an early 4-1 lead in this one, and at least prior to this game, that kind of lead always has been a good sign.
