NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Jim Salisbury and Corey Seidman are reporting that Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera was arrested on a charge of simple assault on Monday night in Atlantic City after an altercation with his 20-year-old girlfriend.
The police report also says the victim “had visible signs of injury to her arms and neck that was sustained after being assaulted by her boyfriend, David Odubel Herrera, during a dispute.”
It is unclear as of this writing how the Phillies will respond to the news, although Major League Baseball has strengthened their domestic abuse policy over the last few years.
