PHILADELPHIA — The Braves backed a solid start from Julio Teheran with a three-run home run in a four-run fifth inning as Atlanta avoided a four-game sweep, taking the series finale over the Phillies 6-2.
Cameron Maybin began the fifth with a walk and moved to second on a balk by Phillies' starter Adam Morgan.
Morgan got the next two batters to fly out to right field, but he had trouble getting the third out. He allowed Chris Johnson to single in Maybin and then walked Jonny Gomes.
Up next was Jace Peterson, who took advantage of Morgan's inability to throw strikes that frame.
