Brad Lidge: 2016 Offers ‘Unique Opportunity For Young Phillies’

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Brad Lidge will forever be a Philadelphia sports hero.

During that unforgettable 2008 World Champion season, “Lights Out” Lidge was perfect (48 for 48) on save opportunities, including the final out of Game 5 of the World Series.

Lidge, 39, now does some work as a MLB radio analyst and chimed in on this year’s Phillies’ team.

“Everything is cyclical,” Lidge told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Thursday. “Listen, this probably won’t be the year the Phillies post the highest winning season they’ve ever had, but maybe it will lead to that with these young guys figuring out what they need to do.
