Blue Jays demolish Nola, Phillies

Tyler Goeddel steadied himself in left field on Thursday night, readying to catch a routine fly ball. He then nearly stumbled to his knees. The rookie lost track of the baseball as it crossed the stadium lights at Citizens Bank Park. Goeddel hurried to his feet, reached out his glove, but the ball fell wide.

The ball bounced to the wall. A run scored and the crowd booed. It was that kind of night.

The end result: The Blue Jays battered the Phillies, 13-2. Goeddel's fourth-inning gaffe put the finishing touches on a four-run inning that had marked the shortest start of Aaron Nola's career.
