According to Stephen Gross of the Morning Call, Ruben Amaro has said that starting pitcher Chad Billingsley will be heading to the 15-day DL just two days after throwing five scoreless against the Marlins with tightness in his elbow.
Billingsley, 30, has posted a 5.84 ERA with the lowest K/9 IP of his career (3.65) but has been affected by poor defense and balls with eyes finding holes (.353 BABIP) and hasn’t had luck with runners on base, posting a career-low 65.5 % LOB. Gross also reports that Jerome Williams is almost ready to return to the Majors while the next step for Aaron Harang is to appear in a rehab game.
