Area Bank Donates $40,000 To Phillies’ Seasonal Anti-Hunger Campaign

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Philadelphia Phillies are once again joining the fight against summertime hunger.

This year’s “Phans Feeding Families” campaign is getting a financial jumpstart from Citizens Bank.  Bank president Dan Fitzpatrick opened his company foundation’s checkbook.

“We’re very pleased to announce that we’re making a $40,000 donation to Philabundance to get this thing started,” he said today.

Philabundance chief development officer Susan Fink says summer is a critical time.

“With more than 300,000 children in the Delaware Valley who rely on school meals, many of those will go without breakfast and lunch,” she noted.
