Friday, January 13 is the deadline for teams and arbitration-eligible players to exchange salary figures for the 2023 season.
The Phillies have five arbitration eligible players: Rhys Hoskins, Ranger Suárez, José Alvarado, Gregory Soto and Edmundo Sosa.
Players with three to six years of service time or “Super 2” eligible players can go through a process known as salary arbitration if they do not have a contract for next season.
If the two sides cannot agree to a contract for 2023, they can go to an arbitration hearing before a panel of arbitrators. Those hearings usually take place during spring training, but the two sides are free to come to an agreement any time before the hearing.
