The putrid results put forth by the Phillies lately could in some cases lead to a managerial change. But before the game against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park, oft-maligned general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. threw his support behind manager Ryne Sandberg.
"Fully supportive of Ryne," Amaro said. "I guess there's a lot of social media stuff going on about him out there. We're fully supportive of Ryne and the staff.
"We've had our challenges this year. There's no question we have not played nearly as well as we would've liked. But there's plenty of baseball left.
