Alec Bohm left Saturday’s game due to COVID protocols

Didi Gregorius was called upon to pinch-hit for Alec Bohm in the eighth inning of Saturday’s 11-2 win over the Boston Red Sox. It was unusual considering a lefty was on the mound and Bohm was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Joe Girardi said after the game that Bohm was taken out of the game due to COVID-19 protocols. He could not provide any further information.

If the Phillies opt to place him on the COVID-IL, he’ll be the eighth Phillies player to go on the list so far this season.
