Sometimes, the Futures Game is a little better watch than the actual All-Star Game. We’ve become such a prospect hugging baseball society thanks to the proliferation of more information about these young players. Many people out there are way more informed about the waves of minor leagues about to crest on the game than they were even ten years ago. How that came about, I have no idea, but it makes interest in the game all the greater which is always a good thing. MLB has recognized that and conducted this Futures Game experiment for years now, a kind of prospect All-Star Game of its own that happens on All-Star weekend.
