Adam Morgan will make major league debut, named Phillies starter Sunday against Cardinals

With Jerome Williams on the disabled list because of a left hamstring strain sustained in Tuesday's game against the Orioles, the Phillies needed a starter for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Friday afternoon, the club announced it will be left-hander Adam Morgan, who will get the call from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The 25-year-old is 0-6 with a 4.74 ERA in 13 starts this season with the IronPigs.

Sunday's start will mark Morgan's major league debut and it will come opposite Cardinals starter Michael Wacha, a righty.

The Phillies will make a corresponding roster move Sunday morning to accommodate Morgan.
