Adam Morgan tames Blue Jays as Phils win, 7-4

Adam Morgan opened the season with triple-A Lehigh Valley, pitching for the first time in a year and a half. A major-league promotion was far from a guarantee for the pitcher who spent all of last season recovering from shoulder surgery. The call finally came in June. And Morgan has not missed his chance to impress.

The rookie lefthander pitched seven strong innings Wednesday night as the Phillies topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-4. Morgan allowed just two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking none. He has a 3.76 ERA in his last seven starts.
