Final Score: Phillies 5, Nationals 1
The Phillies’ first home run since Sunday turned out to be Rhys Hoskins’ 30th of the season. Only Austin Riley and Kyle Schwarber have hit more home runs against the Nationals this season. He’s four away from his career high of 34 in 2018. He went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in the 5-1 victory over Washington.
Hoskins admitted after the game that the Chicago series wore on the team.
“A first inning run was going to go a long way for us there,” Hoskins said. “I think everybody got to take a little bit of a deep breath, know that we can still score runs.
