As you probably know by now, the Philadelphia Phillies have set a new franchise record for All-Stars with 8 players selected to go to Texas. Three of them, namely Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Alec Bohm, will be in the starting lineup. Three more, Jeff Hoffman, Matt Strahm, and Cristopher Sánchez, could possibly enter the game out of the bullpen. Zack Wheeler and Ranger Suárez were selected, but neither will pitch due to various ailments.
The Phillies have never had more than five All-Stars until now. They previously had five in 2011, 2009, 1995, 1981, 1979, and 1976.
