A drop, a hop, and a bop: Phillies 11, Royals 2

The Phillies offense exploded for 11 runs thanks to a sixth inning rally that was sparked by two unusual singles that led to the first of J.T. Realmuto’s two three-run home runs and career-high 7 RBIs. Ranger Suárez was excellent in his first start off of the injured list, as he held the Royals to one run across five innings. The Philadelphia bullpen held Kansas City quiet the rest of the way for an 11-2 win in the second game of this series.

Getting it started

Trea Turner opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third following Kyle Schwarber’s second double of the night.
