5 things to know about Phillies 2015 first-round draft pick Cornelius Randolph

With the 10th pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, the Phillies selected shortstop Cornelius Randolph. He became the second high school shortstop in three years Philadelphia took with their top pick.

Here are five things to know about Randolph:

1. The 6’1”, 190 pounder who turned 18-years-old six days before the draft is a left-handed hitter, but throws right-handed.

2. He was drafted as a shortstop, however, the Phillies plan to move him to left field.

3. Randolph never received hitting lessons. He was taught the game by his father, Cedric, who only played the sport recreationally.
