John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reported on Monday that catcher Andrew Knapp is signing with the San Francisco Giants on a minor-league deal. Knapp will report to Triple-A Sacramento. If he reaches the big league club, he’ll reunite with former Phillies manager Gabe Kapler.
Outfielder Roman Quinn is signing a major league deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He replaces outfielder Harold Ramirez, who is going on the injured list with a right thumb fracture.
